So the day has finally come! Things went pretty good with the delivery. I got to the hospital and they started me on the pitocin around 9:00. The total length of my labor was 5 hours all together. I only pushed for about 20 minutes. Everything was so different from my delivery with Boston. I had some problems with the epidural so I really only had relief for about an hour and a half before I had to start pushing. Before that I seriously thought I was going to die. Then once I started pushing Tayden's heart rate started going all over the place. The doctor could tell something was wrong so she was like, "you need to get him out now." So she didn't let me take any breaks....no waiting for contractions....I just pushed and pushed and pushed. I thought my head was going to explode....or that I was gonna barf everywhere. Once he came out we realized that he wasn't breathing because the cord was completely wrapped around his neck. He was totally blue. The doctor clipped the cord and unwrapped it and set him up on my chest. He was just laying there not breathing, but for some reason I wasn't really worried. She suctioned out his mouth and nose and he still wasn't really making any noise. So they took him from me and shortly after I heard him start to cry. After that he was really ok. I don't think he looks like boston when he was born. He is HUGE compared to boston. He weighs 7 pounds 11 ounces and was 21 inches long. So basically he is 2 pounds heavier and 3 inches longer than boston was. Everyone was like, "where were you keeping all that baby?" I have no idea....no wonder I felt like my stomach was about to rip apart. Anyway we are home now and glad that we have some time to relax and adjust. I am excited to see how this little guy will change in the next few days. He has changed even from yesterday. So here are some of the pics from right after he was born.
Oh I forgot... boston did pretty good with Tayden coming home. He didn't get to see him until we brought him to the house. He acted a little funny at first and then he just kept saying, "I want to see baby tayden." or " I want to hold him and kiss him." It was pretty cute.
Here we are right after he was born....I look like death.
Here is Jared today with the little man...
Boston giving his little brother kisses...He is so curious about our new little addition.
