Jared suprised me last night when he walked in the door at 11:00 pm. I was so happy to see him and to know that he would be here to go to the hospital with me today. We got there bright and early. Did all the fun stuff....started an iv, answered a bunch of questions, and checked to make sure the baby was still breeched. He was...little stinker. Once my doctor showed up the nurse gave me some medication to relax my uterus and mentioned that it would probably make my heart race a little bit. That was a total understatement. I was shaking like crazy. My hands were totally numb. I felt crazy. Seriously. My doctor kept apologizing because she said she had never seen somebody react this badly to the medication. Anyway she laid me back, grabbed my belly right on the baby's head and bottom and pushed...HARD. She got him about half way and he slipped back up to his original position. She waited a minute and then went at it again. I could feel her nails digging into my belly. It was pretty painful. But she was able to the baby head down and in the correct position. Yea. I had to stay for a couple hours while they monitored my contractions and the baby's heart rate. Actually I think they were more concerned about my heart rate initially because it was higher than the baby's. Yeah the meds seriously made me wacky. After a couple hours the baby (and I) looked great and they sent us home. So no baby...but in a couple weeks the little guy will be here so I better enjoy right?
