Sick, Tired, Emotional, and Pregnant....A Recipe for Disaster.

So I am about 38 weeks now and feeling pretty miserable. I have this really bad head cold or sinus infection that is just kicking my butt. I called in sick last night (for the first time since I started this shift) hoping that some sleep would help. Well it didn't. I feel like my head (and my belly) are going to explode. So I went to the dr. for my normal check up and the second she walked in the door I started bawling. Don't ask me why....whoa maybe just a little emotional?! She said I was the 4th pregnant patient she had crying in her office today. That's funny. Anyway not much has changed. I am dilated 2 cm and 80% effaced now which is good, but could also mean absolutely nothing at this point. We were hoping she would agree to induce me on the monday of thanksgiving week because Jared is out of school all week and that is the last day she is on call that week, but it's just a tad too early. So she stripped my membranes hoping that that would push everything along it's course. I don't even know what to think at this point. I am trying not to be frustrated, but it is really difficult for me right now. I just feel worn out. I have a long work week this coming weekend so hopefully something will be happening by then and we can have this baby before thanksgiving. I am gonna laugh if we spend thanksgiving in the hospital....although I would be happy cause we would actually be having this baby. Anyway that is all for now....

Here's hoping for an early baby! Why do they have to be in there so long?!

Oh my heart goes out to you. I can honestly say "I feel your pain". I too am sick (head cold), tired, emotional and pregnant. I feel for you honey. I have been into the hospital twice only to be sent away. I have had contractions every 2 minutes, I'm dilated 2cm and 50% effaced and nothing! Let's both double cross our fingers that we can have these babies soon! Our little babies are in heaven having a contest to see how crazy they can make their cousin mommies. May the best baby win :) Good luck! Loves, KaeLynn

Myca I am so sorry! You should have the doctor write you a note saying NO MORE WORK. Although I do have to say I was a thanksgiving baby and i have always loved having my birthday around thanksgiving. It means your baby will always get to be around family and eat delicious food around their birthday!

Thanksgiving in the hospital sounds great! You would have family around and you would finally be DONE! You are so close. I know it is hard, when I hit this time with Marlee I was SO done. I am feeling closer to that now too. Hang in there, I'm sure he'll be here in no time and it will all be TOTALLY worth it. Love ya, wish we could be there.

I feel your pain as well. Kinda crazy how many pregnant people there are in our family and at the same time! I'm so ready to be done. Funny how things change so fast--a few weeks ago people were saying, "Oh, you look great!" Now all of a sudden, people are saying, "Ooh, when are you due? You look like your going to pop!" Anyways, hang in there. Hopefully you'll have the baby in the next few days. I can't wait to hear about it and see pictures of your beautiful baby boy.
