One Year.

This week (the 24th to be exact) officially marks Jared's 1st year of being home from the deployment. I can't believe it has already been a year.... I am so thankful everyday that I have my husband home now and when I think about it I don't know how I got through that 18 months. In honor of his one year mark Jared had his mom watch the boys for us and we went to dinner just the two of us. It was nice to be able to sit and talk and have NO interruptions. It's those times that help us remember why we are together....we can connect and talk on a totally different level than when we have the kids with us. I love those times...and it was really nice just to have a little time alone. We came back after dinner and brought Jared's parents some dinner and then they stayed and watched a movie with us.
Anyway this year marks some big changes for us.....we have had another sweet little boy. Jared (basically) graduated, and we officially this week payed off all of our debt with our tax returns. No car payments, no students loans, no credits cards, and no more medical bills. It is such a great feeling. We have been working really hard since Jared was deployed to reach this point and it just feels like a really big accomplishment for us. Now we just want to try and keep it that way....we really want to work on our savings and just be smart with how with spend.
Jared wanted to post some pictures from his time in Afghanistan so those will follow shortly.

It really hits close to home seeing those pictures and knowing the person in those pictures. Thanks for all you do for our country Jared! I love your little family. Myca, you are such a strong wife and I really admire waht you must have gone through being alone with just you and your little guy. It sounds like you 4 are in a great place in your life right now, especially with getting all that debt off your shoulders. Great job!
