A Pleasant Surprise.

I have good news. I took Tayden to the ENT specialist today and he is not going to need surgery. I am actually really surprised. The dr. scoped his nose and his ears and everything actually looked really good. He said his adenoids are actually really small, and his ears are completely clear....so what seems to be causing the problem you ask? Well the kid has a really thick nasal septum and tiny little nostrils so all that mucous and snot gets trapped up in there and causes an infection cause it can't ever clear. He said that as soon as he got the scope past his septum that it was totally clear. So basically it's an anatomy thing that he is just going to have to grow into. They could operate on it, but he is just too young and it would probably cause more problems than help. He said if he is still having a lot of problems by the time he is 2 then they will see him again and check everything again. I guess that is pretty good news huh? We will still have to deal with all the congestion and sickness, but at least he doesn't need surgery. I'll take it. Um...other updates...I think Tayden is beginning to wean himself of nursing....just as I thought he would. He acts really fussy when he's hungry when I try to nurse him and will hardly stay latched on long enough for my milk to let down...then the second he sees the bottle he gets all excited. Bummer. He also has mastered the art of throwing a serious fit. He arches his back and throws his head back as hard as he can....into whatever is behind him...which is usually my face. Nice. I still love his sweet little face though...
