Skiing.

We decided last minute on Saturday to head up to Bogus to go night skiing. We decided to take Boston AND Tayden and I am so glad we did. It is a pretty cheap night for us to go and ski even when we take the boys. They ski for free and we only paid 20 bucks for their rentals total. We didn't even end up buying a ticket because we stayed on bunny hill with the boys but it would have only be 1o dollars for our night passes. You can't beat that. The boys had a BLAST. They did so good. I was so proud. There was no crying or whining. It was great. Boston had been once before last year so he did really good snowplowing down the hill. By the end of the night he was really getting the hang of it. Tayden was hilarious. He didn't want to snowplow at all. He just wanted to fly straight down. Every time I would go down the hill a ways to wait for him Jared would let him go and he would seriously come straight down to me without wedging at all. I kept yelling at him to "make a piece of pizza," but every time I would do that he would do something funny with his hands while he was skiing and he wouldn't snowplow. He would get down to me and with a huge smile on his face tell me he wanted to go again. I finally realized that when I was telling him to make a piece of pizza he was moving his hands like he was forming a ball of pizza dough. What a funny kid.

Skiing is what we did when I was growing up. That is what winter was all about for us and I loved it. I want it to be that way for me and my own family and kids. I think we are off to a good start. I didn't take any pictures while we were skiing but I shot a quick picture (with crystal's camera) of Tayden before we got up on the hill. I can't get them to load on this computer so I will put them on later.

So fun! I can't believe you have kids old enough to be skiing. Time is going way too fast.

I have been wanting to take our girls so bad! All I have to do is convince Alex :) and get a babysitter for the babies. So fun!

oh I am so jealous. every winter I think the same thing--"I grew up skiing every Saturday, with an awesome packed lunch complete with a thermos of something hot, listening to some Pet Shop Boys or Phantom of the Opera on the way, and stopping at the store on the way home to get a treat." Such great memories and we live to far from and its too expensive for us to do the same with my kids. Makes me sad. Plus my husband doesn't ski so that is so not helpful. Someday...daishan

if Q ever decides to show an interest in skiing...or even snow for that matter...I'll know where to send her. I'll be inside with the hot chocolate and a good book.

Oh my goodness I can just see cute little Tayden making a pizza, that totally cracks me up! Sounds like a super fun family ski trip for you all. :)

Daishan I totally know what you mean. I have for years been wanting to get up on the mountain...even without my kids but it is just so darn expensive. I decided it was ridiculous for us to not take advantage of having a place to ski literally 45 minutes away so even though it is not something we can do too often I am happy with getting up there at least once a season. And Angie you can send Q our way anytime!!
