Lake Powell!

So were home, and I am so tired, but really excited to write about our week at lake powell. So tuesday morning I came home from work and my best friend from high school kristen Erickson and her husband nick had driven their parent's Denali up the night before so we could all drive together and split the cost of gas. So we loaded up the car and were on our way. I was actually really surprised at how good boston did. We had to drive ten hours and he sat in the back by himself both on the way up there and back and completely entertained himself. I have never heard him talk as much as he did on this trip....it was really funny. Anyway Tom and Alisha Marlatt followed us there in their car, and we all stopped to pick up Alysha and Brandon in Salt Lake.
So we finally got there at like 8:00 pm and tried to load up the house boat with all our stuff. It got dark quick, and it was kinda hard that night because the house boat was just out in the water and we all had to find a place to sleep on it....so thus started the week of no sleep. Every day the weather was so nice, and then at night the thunder and rain storms would hit. The first night we slept on top of the house boat and got rained on. The second night we had set up our tent on the beach, but it was in a bad spot and so windy that it blew the back side of the tent over...so we set up and extra tent ryan had brought that barely fit our air mattress in it. Boston slept between us, and half way through the night our mattress deflated. It was really frustrating....I was so tired. The third night a really bad storm hit and it snapped three of the poles on our tent so we were going to try to sleep on top of the house boat again....well the boat was rocking so bad that jared couldn't stay up there....he gets really bad motion sickness. So he slept on the beach and I slept up top with boston. Well it started to rain and we got drenched....so I found a random spot on the floor inside and attempted to sleep there. Needless to say the rest of the nights weren't much better. Now that was the only down fall of our trip. The rest of the time was awesome. We had gorgeous hot weather every day....and the water was so warm. We swam, skiied, wakeboarded, and surfed a ton. Boston's favorite thing was to go out in the water and throw rocks. He didn't like getting in the deep part, but he would stand in the shallow part forever throwing rocks. All the guys had a good time....a couple water football games, and a game of "get the melon to the shore." That was halarious to watch...they all soaked themselves with oil, and covered the melon with oil, and it was an all out brawl to get the melon to the beach. It was so fun to watch. Anyway to say the least we had an awesome week....so here are some pictures.

Here are some pictures of us with Nick and Kristen. We had so much fun with them....I am so glad they came. Nick an Jared kept us totally entertained driving to and from. They were halarious.

We also loved having Tom and Alisha there. Then again we always have a good time when we are with them....they ended up deciding to go at the last minute....I am glad they did.
Boston loved going in the boat....on the second to last day we loaded up both boats and went to this really awesome cove where we all got out and swam. Some of us jumped off this little cliff too. I think these were pictures from when we ran out of gas on the way back. Boston was just hanging out and some of the guys jumped in....oh and we had an awesome dance party. Jared got on top of the boat and held onto the big rack like it was a stripper pole and gave us all a show. It was by far one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of it.
