Just One Week Please.

So today seemed like it was going to go a little bit better than last week. I went over to Kim's house for a yummy lunch and to chat and let the kids play...Then I got both babies down for naps before scouts so that they wouldn't be a wreck when I had to go, and the sweetest sister from my ward called and offered to watch all four boys for the hour that I would be at scouts. So I took the boys over to her house and picked up her son to take him with me. When I dropped them off of course both babies were crying and freaking out but I knew as soon as I left they would be ok with me out of sight. I got through scouts and felt like I had actually fulfilled my calling this week. Then when I got back to her house she came to the door with Tayden crying and she was in a panic....the first thing she said was something like, "I promise I was holding him almost the whole time....then the one time I put him down he fell..." followed by..."leave the boys here and you can take Tayden to the hospital...you need to take him now..." Ok so I was a little freaked out to say the least. Tayden had a huge purple goose egg on his head. I am not talking like a little bump it was like HUGE. But as soon as I held him he was acting totally fine. His pupils looked normal, he wasn't throwing up or acting lethargic so I was pretty sure I didn't need to take him to the hospital. I just felt bad for her...I didn't want her to think that I would be mad at her or something....seriously things like this happen all the time. Well I guess as soon as he fell and she saw his head she freaked when she couldn't get ahold of me (you know it's bad when there is already an enormous purple bump right when it happens) and called her husband who is an anesthetist and told him to hurry home. He got there about the same time as me and basically felt the same way I did....that if I took him to the hospital they would look him over and then tell me to watch him closely at home...and charge me 500.00 for it. So I assured her everything was ok and I took them home. I have to say I truly appreciated her taking the boys for me regardless of what happened....and she even called tonight to check and make sure he was ok. She told me she still really wants to watch the boys for me if I still trusted her....ahhh I feel so bad for her. She said they were sitting and playing by the stairs and she got up to get the boys more crackers and Tayden just slipped and hit his head on the corner of the banister. I know that this was totally not her fault....I hope she does too. Now I just feel like I don't want to burden her with the boys again you know? Sigh....I don't know. Anyway these pictures don't even do his head justice...I couldn't get the angle to show how big the bump was sticking out from him head, but this is right after it happened...like 30 minutes later....poor little guy.

Poor boy!! Head bumps always look so bad. I would definitely let her watch your kids again though. If that happened to me and then the person didn't let me watch their kids again, I would think she really thought I was a crappy mom/babysitter.

Don't worry about burdening her...if she is offering then she doesn't consider it a burden. Think about when you offer to help other people if you want them to accept your help you have to be willing to let other people help you too! Give Tayden a kiss for me.

Poor guy! How wonderful, though, that someone offered to help you out for scouts. Take her up on it, for sure!

That sucks. Both my girls have gotten eggs like that. U think they always look worse then they are. Although, I bet he had quite the headache! Poor guy. I would take them back too...obviously she doesn't think it is too big a burden, or she wouldn't ask. Plus...maybe she wants the chance to redeem herself! lol
