Great Way To Spend An Anniversary.

So today is mine and Jared's 7 year anniversary. Luckily, we went out Friday night and had a great dinner and then finished up some Christmas shopping. Saturday we literally lounged around the house all day. I never even got out of my pajamas....I love days like that. Today, (our actual) anniversary I woke up to my sweet husband making me breakfast in bed. I am so spoiled. He got up with the boys early and let me sleep in...and then brough me waffles, bacon, eggs, hasbrowns, and a strawberry smoothie...all in bed! So wonderful....
So now on to the not so awesome part of our anniversary. Jared has been having "episodes" again with his stomach. This all started like 18 months ago and it really has never gone away. He has had two really bad episodes in the last 3 days. Well tonight he had another one, but this time the pain just wouldn't go away so he decided to go into the ER. They ended up doing a cat scan and not only found a HUGE gallstone but a really small kidney stone (his appendix was normal)...both of which they DON'T think is causing his pain and vomiting. They still think that he has an ulcer that is causing his symptoms. So they gave him some prescriptions to take for the next two weeks. If he doesn't have relief from those then he will probably need to see a GI doctor to have a scope to see if he really has an ulcer. Then if there is no ulcer we will move onto a general surgeon for his gallbladder and decide if he needs to have surgery. Ugh...what a disaster for my poor husband. I feel so bad for him. He finally left the ER tonight feeling a little better (I stayed to work) but when I called to check on him he was barfing his brains out. Happy anniversary to him huh? I feel so helpless....I really hope that we get some answers with these medications and can finally get him feeling better and healthy again. Anyway keep your fingers crossed....and I thought I was the one who was gonna get an ulcer. :) Maybe all this stress really is getting to my poor husband even though he tries to hard not to show it!

I had the same thing going on, they blasted my kidney stone (after a yr of not knowing what the pain was. the pain was in the front by the bottom of my left rib, and not really any back pain), and the pain has never been back. my stone was a size 5 (?) and not in the tub which is where they claim the pain would be, not floating around the kidney like it was. hope he gets better! Happy Holidays from the Barlows

Before I had my gallbladder out I couldn't keep anything down and the pain was horrible. I would definately consider getting rid of it. Also, I have been having lots of stomach issues. Have they tested him for h.pylori? It's the bacteria that causes ulcers. It can make you nauseas and feel "yucky". Plus he may want to get a ct scan with contrast to check for any growths. I have been sick lately and unfortunately found out I have a tumor in my small intestine that has been making me sick. I will pray it's something simple and that your husband gets well soon. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
